The creation of photos was first called Daguerreotype. Thank goodness, in 1839, scientist Sir John F. W. Herschel labeled the new creation, “Photography” which is derived from the Greek words, photos (“light”) and graphein (“to draw”). It appears Sir John was aware that photography was a new art form.

These days’ cameras and photos are readily available and can be used by all and at times we might get lucky enough to capture a unique look, quality or expression…but those times are rare. Photography is an art of skill, a trained eye, but more importantly the natural ability to grasp the essence of the subject and create a photo that will tug at the heart strings of its viewers.
