This was true for Regina Villemure, CEO of Children with Hairloss.  Her niece was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and she recognized the effect that hairloss at a young age can have on a child`s self esteem.  For Regina the purposes were clear, to give her niece and other children their dignity and esteem back through hair replacement. 

Children with Hairloss was born!  It has provided many children with hair replacements that they have lost to various medically related hair loss causes, such as:  Chemotherapy, Radiation, Rare Disorders, Tricotillomania, Burns, and Alopecia.  And CWHL continues to replace their hair year after year until they reach 21.

  • Offers assistance in the form of human hair replacements to children experiencing medically related hair loss at NO COST to recipients.
  • Provides a human hair replacement, care kit, hat, turban with attachable hair, and styling services NO COST to recipients.
  • Operates entirely on revenues generated from tax-deductible donations, fundraisers, grants.
  • Is dedicated to raising awareness of the emotional and physical effects of hair loss.
  • CWLH graciously accepts donations of hair at least 8 inches or longer in length.  Non-chemically treated hair preferred, however, chemically treated hair in good condition is accepted.  Hair must be clean and dry, and braided or in a ponytail.

Regina and the CWLH staff not only help children but provide training workshops for beauticians to learn how to create and maintain the hair replacements. 

A visit to the headquarters is always welcome.  While there, you will discover a place where wildcards are given to children that have been dealt a bad hand.
